Buttons

The Bean has a stuffed dog he loves, but it's a little big to carry around. Nice to sleep with though! So we took him to Build a Bear Workshop to let him pick out a new friend. 

If you haven't been to build a bear, you get your animals mostly unstuffed and you go through a few stations until you end up with a stuffed animal.

He was very cute looking at all the different animals (they have completed samples) until he finally settled on a pug dog. Mommy's fav breed!! He loves it. It goes with his blanky and he likes it when he wants his blanky. Much easier to pack around. We had to name the dog ( which got ear bows so I think it's a she) and he kinda picked Buttons from the name generator. So Buttons it is! You get a fancy certificate with your animal. 

Of course the animal is like a gateway to everything else they sell in the store. Clothes, shoes, accessories and the like. One of the sample dogs had roller skates and leash that he seemed interested in. Then he can pull it around.  That might to go on his want list next time a gift occasion rolls around. 

Mommy had to make both of them fit in the Ergo. Harder than it looks! 

Costco

They sell just about anything at Costco these days. But yes you have to buy it big :)

Going Green

In honor of St Patricks day the Bean has colored his feet green :)

Car Wash

My car was filthy and the sun was out (although it's still coldish, in the 50s), but the Bean and I got adventurous and decided to wash my car. He was very serious about his job as rinser. Although giving a water obsessed 18 month old control of a hose sounds kinda scary, he did awesome!! I only got wet once and that's when I was trying to rinse off a brush. Soon I'll have him trained to do the whole thing by himself!!

Kitchen helper!!

After months of unsuccessfully looking for a used kitchen helper I decided that we were going to have to build one. After finding plans and a lumber yard that would make all the cuts for us, a miracle happened and a used one popped up. We wasted no time picking it up. It's been through five years and two little girls, but it's held up great. 

The Bean was quite excited once he realized what it was. He's wasted no time learning new things in the kitchen. He loves to rinse dishes and wipe the counter. He's a good helper!!

Cooking

The Bean wants to be involved with what goes on in his house. He has a set of pots and pans and cooks frequently with his fav ingredient, ice cubes. He just discovered however that we own a stepstool and with with this magical device, he can reach the counter. I was putting some stuff in the crockpot the other morning and he decided he needed to help. 

I love that he wants to be involved, but I don't love that he's on the stepstool. So afraid he'll fall! One company makes these awesome things called kitchen helpers, which are basically a platform with rails. You can adjust the platform height and they can help without risking a fall. They are ridiculously expensive for what they are though. And I can't find them used. Darn!! Happily I found plans to build one. Oh Jeff! I have a weekend project for us :)
